our mission is to rescue your home videos!

Here is some general information about Home Video Rescue’s Service

Turnaround Time

Turnaround Time depends on the number of items and the length of the videos along with the volume of orders we are handling.  We will give you our best estimate before we accept your order.

Pricing

The prices vary based on the number of physical pieces to convert, but the more you have, the more you save.

Content Submitted

We only want you to have the content that you want.  If you are unsure of what’s you’re converting, we can preview it and let you know.  That way you’re not getting 6 hours of 90’s TV shows. 😉  There is a $2 charge for each video previewed if it is not converted. This includes blank tapes.

Copyrighted Material

We do not digitize any copyrighted material, such as movies on VHS.  We suggest purchasing actual digital copies.  If you’re not sure if your material is copyrighted, please contact us.

Video Quality

The quality of your digital video is directly tied to the condition of the source video. If the tape/film is old and worn, it will show in the conversion.  There is very little we can do to enhance the existing quality.

Keep in mind, these formats were recorded in a time when HD quality was very new or did not exist.  Your videos are not going to look great on your 80″ 4K screen no matter what we do.

USB or DVD

While we’re happy to make DVD’s for you, we do not feel that’s your best option for several reasons:

  1. Each DVD can only fit around 2 hours of video.  At $10 each, that will get expensive.
  2. DVD’s like VHS tapes are becoming obsolete.  You may not have a DVD player available at some point.
  3. MP4 computer files on a USB drive can be copied and saved to multiple storage devices, protecting the videos from being lost or damaged.

Guarantee

We guarantee our work.  If something is not right, we will re-do your entire order at no charge.

Payments

Home Video Rescue can accept the following:  Cash, Zelle, Venmo, Paypal and all major credit and debit cards through Square processing.
